The Baltimore Folk Music Society, founded in 1975 as a non-profit, educational organization, is devoted to teaching, preserving, and promoting the music, dance, and traditions of the American people. It is mainly supported through membership dues, supplemented by grants and donations which are tax-deductible.
Board meetings
BFMS board meetings are almost always on the first Tuesday of the month and are open to BFMS members. If you would like to attend, please contact the BFMS President via email. president at bfms.org

BFMS Scholarships
BFMS provides up to $500 a year in small grants for its members who wish to upgrade their skills and benefit the BFMS community. The grant can cover tuition and travel expenses for workshops, summer camps and courses related to dance music and calling. Applications must be received before the event takes place, and should include a letter detailing the event, costs, requested amount and how assisting the applicant would benefit the BFMS community. All applications should be sent to the Scholarship Committee, BFMS, P.O. Box 65144 Baltimore MD 21209.
Lost and Found
Items are kept at the Lovely Lane Church. Check with a Gate Committee member or contact a BFMS Board member. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity or disposed of after a holding period.
